on location in Iraq for Battle Stations Specials.
Flashback
is producing a further 3 hours in the ongoing series of Battle Stations
for Channel Four Television.
The Battle Stations Iraqi War Specials will offer a fresh and considered
perspective on the performance and role of military technology and weaponry
used in the recent Iraq conflict. Just a few weeks after the end of
the war Flashback has sent a crew into Kuwait and Baghdad to interview
US military personnel about their experiences of the campaign. The three
programmes will focus on:
- the
bombing campaign - the role of the B52, and ordnance from cruise
missile to daisy cutters
- the
helicopters - the performance of the Black Hawk and Apache
- and
the war on the ground
- tanks and armour such as the Abrams and Bradley in the 3rd Infantry
Division's advance on Baghdad
Flashback
is making use of its extensive network of military contacts based on
itsexperience of producing the 32 hours to date in the Battlestations
series. The three new programmes will also include combat footage sourced
from the Pentagon.
The
first of the three part series, Battle Stations Iraq: The Bombing
War, airs on Channel 4 on monday 2nd June, at 8pm.
