Adoption
All For the Sake Of The Children

1992

Take us into a secret world usually barred to cameras. This acclaimed drama documentary technique, developed by Flashback Television Ltd and Thames Television Plc brought us the noted drama-docs Linda's Secret, Danger In Mind and Divorce - Who Gets The Children?

Adoption - All For the Sake Of The Children gives us a moving and dramatic account of the adoption process from the inside.

How prospective parents are subjected to a long and often harrowing investigation.
How children in care who are emotionally damaged, are prepared for their new home
How the children's natural parents are involved in the process of adoption.

The Scenario of this film is a fiction, the parents and children are played by actors. But social workers from Norfolk Social Services deal with an application to adopt and also decide what is best for Polly (8) and Lee (6) Davies, as if they are real.

Director - Richard Broad
Producer - Sian Williams
Editor - Cesca Eaton
Executive Producers - Taylor Downing & Roger Bolton

Transmission: April 14th 1992 on Thames TV at 10.40pm.
