| The Porn King versus the President (Transmission date: Monday 1st November 2004, 9pm on BBC 3) Hardcore pornographer Rob Black could go to prison for fifty years if George W. Bush wins the upcoming election. Black is on the receiving end of the first Federal obscenity indictment in a decade. His company, Extreme Associates, has produced some of the most hardcore and politically subversive pornography in America. It’s no surprise that he’s the number one hate figure for John Ashcroft, America’s evangelical Attorney General. At the instigation of America’s Christian Right, Ashcroft’s Justice Department is gearing up for a ‘war on pornography’. Special Prosecutors have been appointed to prepare indictments against the major porn producers. The ultimate goal is to destroy America’s ten billion dollar porn industry. But first they must wait for the result of Rob Black’s test case. Black is desperately hoping that Bush will lose the election, Ashcroft will lose his job, and the case against him will collapse. But if Bush is re-elected, and Black is convicted, there will be nothing to stand in John Ashcroft’s way. |
