Sam Organ is currently co-Executive Producer of Avoiding Armageddon, a feature length documentary about the Cold War for Flashback TV, Channel 4 and Discovery. Previous productions for Flashback have included 55 Days: the Fall of Saigon for BBC2 and France 2 and Secret Life of the Classroom a film about children in their first year at primary school for Channel 4.
In the 1980’s Sam produced and directed a range of programmes including two of the first films about AIDS in the UK for the prestigious documentary strand 40 Minutes.
Sam was Executive Producer in the BBC Bristol network television department for ten years including five years as Deputy Head. He edited several BBC seasons and, as Executive Producer, his credits included history series, contemporary documentaries and arts programmes, including Shakespeare on the Estate which won the RTS Best Arts Documentary award.
Since 2001 Sam has worked for all the UK terrestrial channels as a freelance executive producer, a role he combines with his work at Flashback Bristol. His recent credits include Tribe, the documentary series about indigenous peoples for BBC 2 and The Martians and Us for the BBC4 sci fi season.
